Father Ed Fride

Father Ed Fride was born in Duluth, Minnesota on March 24, 1953. He was raised Protestant but became Roman Catholic during his senior year in high school as a result of his involvement with the charismatic renewal.  During his freshman year in college he experienced a call to the priesthood and following his education was ordained a priest on November 29, 1986 in Memphis, Tennessee.  He transferred to the Diocese of Lansing and has served as pastor of Christ the King since 1993.  He has also served in a variety of ways at Fr. Gabriel Richard High School.  His degrees include bachelor’s degrees in theology, philosophy, Jewish studies, and classical languages.  He also has a Master of Divinity and a Licentiate in Sacred Theology.  He is currently completing a Master’s in philosophy.
